AAHK is committed to transforming the digital landscape of Hong Kong's air cargo industry to reinforce our global competitiveness. In late 2021, we launched the pioneering HKIA Cargo Data Platform, a digital ecosystem network that connects our air cargo community stakeholders using advanced technologies such as blockchain. Through this synchronised, neutral and trusted digital network, we aim to build a secured, efficient, resilient and sustainable air cargo supply chain.

In addition to contributing to a smart cargo airport, we envision leveraging HKIA Cargo Data Platform to facilitate global digital trade through cross-industry collaboration, and we have recently embarked on this transformative journey. HKIA Cargo Data Platform is now collaborating with the Commercial Data Interchange (CDI) platform of Hong Kong Monetary Authority to share air cargo logistics data with financial institutions, with clients’ consent. This enables financial institutions to better understand their clients’ operating conditions and business status, thus accelerating and enhancing their trade and financing services. This initiative is especially beneficial for SMEs in logistics industry, helping them secure the essential and timely support needed to thrive and expand.

In future, we aspire to build a global digital ecosystem that transcends sectors, bolstering global trade and driving economic growth of Hong Kong.
